Theme layout, Page options and Background

Video

If you open the video on Youtube, you can find the chapters of the different settings in the description.

Theme Layout Options

Container width

You can set the maximum width of your content with this option. So you can either have your website covering the whole screen or you can choose to make it go only till a specific number in pixels. So even on big monitors, it’s not going to go all the way to the sides. Be aware, that the header and footer have these options as well, so you can have your header all the way to the sides, but your content will only be in the specific width.

Enable Stable Scrollbar

In case that you have a page on your website that doesn’t have much content and doesn’t need scrolling, you should set this option to yes. The reason is, that since there is no scrollbar, the whole website shifts to the side. This is visually disturbing and doesn’t look good, so enable this option to prevent this.

Default 404 page

The theme comes with a default 404 page, so the page that shows if the visitor goes to some wrong link. But if you are not happy with the default one, you can create your own page and then select it here.

Background

You can change a background color of your whole website or set an image as a background.

Page Options

Enable Page Title

Set to automatically show the page title on each page.

Sidebar Positioning

Set to automatically show sidebar on all pages. If you want to do it only a specific page, you can do so in choosing a sidebar template for the specific page. So in editing the single page, you have an option to choose a template, that is where you choose the sidebar for that specific page.

Transcription of the video

Now, let’s talk about theme layout options, background, and page options. Most of these settings are quite straightforward, but I’ll go through them to ensure everything is clear.

First, the theme layout options: The ‘Container Width’ setting allows you to define the width of your content container. You can set a specific width, such as 1240px or 1440px, or make it full width, which means the content will stretch from edge to edge of the screen. Typically, you’ll want the header and footer to span the full width, while keeping the main content centered.

The ‘Enable Stable Scroll Bar’ option is useful for preventing a shift in the page layout when switching between pages with and without a scrollbar. When enabled, it keeps the scrollbar space visible at all times, which creates a more stable experience.

The ‘Default 404 Page’ setting allows you to set a custom page for when users visit a non-existent URL. The default page is simple, but you can create a custom 404 page and select it here.

For the ‘Background’ settings, you can choose a solid color or set an image as the background. Be mindful of readability if you opt for an image—make sure it doesn’t interfere with your content.

Under ‘Page Options,’ you can decide whether to automatically display the page title and configure sidebar placement (left, right, or both). These settings help you customize the layout of individual pages and maintain a consistent design.

That’s it! Hopefully, this overview helps you get the most out of these options and create a well-structured and visually appealing site. Thanks!
